SKIPPING DISCS CELEBRATES ITS FIFTH ANNIVERSARY...

...by going out of business (almost).

MAY 2005

LABEL OF THE MONTH

Plug In Music has selected Skipping Discs as its featured label of the month. Read their interview with our founder and owner.

WHAT A LONG STRANGE TRIP IT'S BEEN

Thanks to a last-minute surge of sales, we were able to renew our domain name for another year and now this site will be up until at least March 20, 2008. What this means is that the CD sales part of our business will remain (so we can unload our inventory) but we are no longer planning on releasing any new material in the foreseeable future.

Our CDs are still available at going-out-of-business rock-bottom prices. Get 'em while they last or you may soon have to look for them on eBay and pay huge, inflated prices since they are destined to become collector's items.

We want to thank all of the bands and artists who have graciously appeared on our releases in exchange for pitifully small royalty payments (Don't worry. If I owe you any, you'll get them sometime soon I hope.), all of the other bands and artists who submitted tracks for our now never-to-be-released compilations, all of the retail outlets and distributors who agreed to carry our CDs on consignment, and especially all of the music lovers from around the world who recognized something special (or a least a little different) in what our micro-label was trying to accomplish and purchased our CDs.

HOSTING ON NVME DISKS IN KIEV

We also want to say thanks to our hosting. Actually all skipping or spinning disks is lame this days. This site is hosted on a server in Ukraine with NVME SSD's. Check out why Ukrainian NVME Hosting rock - Украинский Хостинг в Киеве

— Jamie Field and Russ Elliot, musicaldiscoveries.com

"Different for Girls turns Joe Jackson's best tunes on their head with gender-bending takes that manage to bring out the sweet (in the title track), the rawk ('Look Sharp!'), the glitter ('Steppin' Out'), and the agony ('Breaking Us in Two') that made Jackson one of the eighties' best, and most memorable, songwriters."
— Robin Aigner

"Once again you have put together an extraordinary disc. An excellent mix of Mr. Jackson's finer moments and each selection does them justice... Congrats on another successful project!"
— Bill Morse, Music Director, WRBC
